Offer FAQs

Below are frequently asked questions about the One Click Switch (OCS) offer. Note: the specific offer Terms & Conditions end Eligibility criteria will apply.

Q: What is the One Click Switch offer?

A: The offer is a minimum 10% savings on your estimated annual electricity costs if you complete an electricity comparison via One Click Switch and switch to a new electricity plan (subject to the offer T&Cs).

Q: When does the offer start and end?

A: The offer is available from 1 June 2026 for 12 months (subject to the offer T&Cs).

Q: Who is eligible?

A: The One Click Switch offer is an exclusive offer to Westpac Transaction Account and Credit Card holders. To be eligible, you must have a Westpac Transaction Account or Westpac Credit Card, Westpac Online Banking and meet the offer T&Cs.

Q: How do I access the offer?

A: You must be logged into Westpac Online Banking and navigate to the Westpac Rewards Hub. From the Rewards Hub, you must click on the One Click Switch offer tile and directed through to the One Click Switch dedicated landing page to access the offer (subject to the offer T&Cs).

Once on the One Click Switch dedicated landing page, follow the prompts to complete the electricity comparison and switch electricity provider (subject to the offer T&Cs).

Q: What’s the incentive and how much do I get?

A: The offer provides a minimum 10% savings on your estimated annual electricity costs when switching electricity plan. If the lowest-priced eligible electricity plan available on the OCS platform is not at least 10% cheaper than estimated annual costs of your current plan, OCS will pay you the difference required to reach a 10% saving, capped at a maximum payment of $500 AUD (subject to the offer T&Cs).

For example, if the calculated saving is 7%, One Click Switch will provide an e-gift card top-up for the remaining 3% (the “delta”) so the total saving equals 10%, after you have completed the switch. Savings are calculated by comparing the estimated annual cost of your current plan against the estimated annual cost of the cheapest eligible plan available on the OCS platform at the time of comparison. Calculations are based on your actual electricity usage from the previous 12 months, retrieved via Consumer Data Right (CDR). If you choose to switch to a plan that is not the cheapest available, your minimum 10% savings payment will not increase (savings will be calculated based on the cheapest eligible plan).

Q: When will I receive the incentive?

A: Your new electricity plan will commence when the switch is completed.

If you are eligible for an e-gift card top-up to make up the delta to the minimum 10% savings, your e-gift card will be sent to the email address used when switching electricity provider by a third-party Prezzee within 75 days after you switch to the new electricity plan (subject to the offer T&Cs).

Q: How do I know my switch was successful?

A: Once you have submitted your order, you’ll receive a One Click Switch customer reference, which means your order has been submitted to your chosen provider. You will receive a welcome pack via email from your new electricity provider. They will let your current provider know of the change, and it’s usually a smooth transition with no power outage during the switch. It can take anywhere from 2-10 days to switch electricity providers but check their welcome pack for more information.

Q: Are there any exclusions or limits?

A: Please find the full list of Exclusions and Limitations in the offer T&Cs.

Q: How do I know if I meet the eligibility for an e-gift card?

A: After the savings calculation is completed, you will see a list of available electricity plans and a checklist of the eligibility criteria that you meet or do not meet. This will confirm if you are eligible for an e-gift card after you switch to your chosen plan.

Q: How to use received e-gift card?

A: The Prezzee Smart Gift Card (or the Co-branded Smart Gift Card) allows the recipient to swap their Prezzee Smart Gift Card to one retailer for or up to 5 retailer Gift cards at a time. For full instructions and YouTube video, please visit Prezzee at https://help.prezzee.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/214802277-How-do-I-redeem-my-Gift-Card

Q: Can I switch more than one account and get multiple incentives?

A: If you have 2 properties and 2 electricity meters, you may switch electricity provider per property, however you must not have switched electricity providers in the last 12 months for any one property.

Q: Are there any fees or charges?

A: Product fees, interest, and other charges apply to the Westpac Transaction Account, but One Click Switch is free to use for electricity plan comparison to see how much you can save, and free to submit your switch order. Always review the proposed new electricity plan T&Cs and fees.

Q: What information is shared and how is it used?

A: Westpac does not share any customer details with One Click Switch. Any information collected and used as part of the switching process is handled in accordance with the relevant privacy policies and the offer/service terms.

Energy FAQs

Q: How is the One Click Switch service free?

A: The providers pay a fee to One Click Switch when you switch electricity or gas using the One Click Switch service. This does not affect the price you pay, nor the plans or options available for you to choose.

Q: Can I use different providers for electricity and gas?

A: Yes, absolutely. When you go through the flow and choose services to switch, you'll be able to choose the same, or different providers for electricity and gas.

Q: Why do I need to provide personal details?

A: Your personal information is required to complete your switch request. We will ask for your full name, mobile phone number and email address. Once you have chosen your provider and plan, you'll also be asked for your ID details, date of birth and address. These are required by the energy companies to process your request.

We do not disclose or sell your personal information to anyone, and collecting these details is for the sole purpose of arranging and facilitating your utility switch request (as per the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988).

Q: Will I lose power during the switch?

A: No, there'll be no interruption to your power supply so you can keep using the power as you normally would.

Q: Do I need to let my old provider know that I'm switching?

A: Your new provider will let your old provider know that you're switching, so you won't need to do anything.

Q: Which energy providers are included in the comparison?

A: We partner with a range of trusted energy providers to provide a comprehensive and competitive comparison experience. Our current panel of providers includes leading and emerging brands such as EnergyAustralia, Origin, AGL and Alinta and other reputable providers available in your area. We don't play favourites, and will always show you the lowest price plans first.

Q: How long does it take to switch energy providers?

A: Using the One Click Switch service, we can get your switch request sorted in just a few minutes, without having to spend ages on the phone, sitting on hold or making multiple phone calls.

Once your switch request is submitted, it can take between 2 and 10 business days for the actual cutover, but the welcome pack from your new provider will have more information. Please note that gas account changes may be delayed until the next standard meter reading date depending on your location.

Q: If I submit a switch request, will I be locked into a contract?

A: There are no fixed-term contracts and no exit fees, giving you the total freedom to switch again whenever you choose.

Q: Are there any upfront fees?

A: Most energy providers do not charge upfront fees to switch energy plans. Some energy providers may request a Pre-authorization payment (usually $1.00) to ensure any direct debit payment details provided are valid, however this will be indicated on the form, and the payment will either be refunded back to you or applied to your account as a credit when your account is set up.
